About Me
In my twenties I became committed to Martial arts eventually becoming a 3rd Dan national coach for the UK. Unfortunately I sustained a spinal injury and after many unsuccessful conventional treatments I had disc replacement surgery. Because of my personal experience with back pain I began researching and training in a variety of therapies.
These range from Sports massage, Bowen therapy, Emmett therapy, Neurostrutural integral techniques NST, Onsen treatment of pain USA, Chi-gung self healing exercises, Reiki.
Specialist Bowen training with Howard Plummer to treat children with Cerebral Palsy and Autism. I also worked along side him for 3 years.
In my capacity as a Sports therapist I attended the world Bench press lifting championships and the Athletics Association as on site therapist.

More Information...
After more than three decades of practising and teaching martial arts I have experienced every type of injury sportsmen and women are likely to encounter.
I eventually found myself seeking help for my own back condition which required disc replacement surgery. This led me to have great empathy for people with muscular and joint pain. I had been practising healing arts since 1974, alongside my aikido training, for which I was a national coach of Great Britain, from this I progressed to sports massage practise at UWIC university of Wales Level 4. Followed by training in BUQI which is a form of CHI GUNG healing and self healing exercises, which I teach to my clients when required.
I then travelled as far afield as America to qualify in the Onsen Treatment of pain. This is a system of muscle energy moves to restore mobility and fitness to athletes, this is only taught in U.S.A.
This took me to a deeper level of bodywork. This is is the Bowen Therapy, this is the work of the late great Thomas Bowen, of which I am proud to say I am a advanced practitioner. This moved my whole perception of treating pain to a new level, and I discovered the Emmett Technique. Mr Ross Emmett brings a whole new flexibility to my treatment work, as he confidently uses this as the chameleon approach to all therapies.
I currently practise in Monmouth, I also run a children's clinic where I treat children with learning difficulties, and babies with Colic and Asthma . After training with Mr Howard Plummer of Cardiff, I have gained greater understanding of how the body responds to gentle touch. The body responds rapidly to this treatment and children are very receptive to this, I am offering this to families with children with these conditions free of charge.
